There is Huge News for those Traveling on the Motorway

According to the details, the new rate of fines will be set aside from January 1, 2024, for traffic violations on all motorways, highways, and expressways under the jurisdiction of the Motorway Police.

Penalty for Vehicles

Under the revised rate, motorcyclists will be fined Rs 2,500 for cars, Rs 10,000 for passenger vehicles, and Rs 5,000 for goods vehicles for violating the speed limit.

Penalty for Negligent Driver

1500 for the negligent driving of a motorcycle car and LTV while 5000 on PSV and the HTV vehicle.

Driving Without License 

A fine of Rs. 5,000 will be imposed on driving a motorcycle, car, or LTV vehicle without a license, while a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on passenger and cargo vehicles.

A fine of 5,000 Rupees will be imposed for not giving way to emergency vehicles.

It should be noted that the decision to increase the rate of fines has been made to control accidents.

Increased Interest Rate on the License 

According to the details, the Punjab government has decided to increase the interest rate on the license with the start of the new installation.

The License Fee is to be paid every year

The license fee will be charged every year instead of five years. The Learner license fee for five years was 550. Now Rs. 500 has been fixed.

Rickshaw, Car, and Jeep Fee

The five-year fee for a rickshaw was Rs 550, and it has been fixed at Rs 500, while the five-year fee for a motorcar and jeep license was Rs 950, now Rs 1800 will be charged.

Light Transport 

Similarly, the five-year fee for light transport was 950, now 2,000 rupees is going to be collected every year, while the five-year fee for heavy transport was 450, now 2000 rupees will have to be paid every year. 

According to traffic police officials, the fee for Handicapped is off now.

The new fee will be applicable on 1st January 2024.
